A Major Upgrade to Mosaic’s Operating Model

Building in Mosaic just got significantly faster. With full keyboard control, dynamic spacing, and smart-select formula selection, the operating model is now even better designed to support your modeling workflows.

1 – Excel-style keyboard shortcuts: You can now use the same Excel-like shortcuts you’re used to directly within Mosaic’s operating model. Add new rows and columns, toggle fiscal year ends, currencies, and more. Simply press "Alt" at any time to view the complete shortcut menu.

2 – Full keyboard navigation: Arrow-keys, tab/shift-tab, and F2 editing are now live. No more manually clicking into cells – you can move through and edit the model just like you would in Excel. This means faster edits, smoother workflows, and less reliance on the mouse.

3 – Dynamic model spacing: Mosaic now automatically optimizes spacing as you build more complexity into your model. When you add custom rows or start from a template, the model intelligently compresses line items so you can see more at once. Prefer the original layout? Simply click into the “Expand Spacing” button in the top left corner to revert.

4 – Intelligent formula selection: Formulas now respond to your inputs. Mosaic automatically selects the appropriate logic, and you can click directly into legend items to continue building — no need to type everything manually.
